Die Stilte (The Quietness) revolves around a young man in the middle of a downward spiral of guilt and loneliness who feels isolated from his inner circle and those closest to him. Marnus Tredoux conceptualized this film from an old script that was the result of an experiment he did in 2005. The experiment was to see whether a 17 min short could be conceptualized, written and shot in 24 hours. Marnus decided that this would be his project for 2008, Die Stilte. He collaborated with Gideon van Eeden and Geon Nel.The film was completed and has since screened at the Winelands Film Festival. Die Stilte won an Award for Best Post Production at S.A Horrorfest 2009. Technical Details: The film was shot over a period of 5 days at various locations in Bellville. It was shot on Sony HDV Cameras and converted to Apple ProRes for cutting and grading.
